Welcome!
A long time ago, in a countryside dotted with sheep, an extended family of peasants walked the hills of Elizabethan England. Or at least, a handful of historians, comedians, and actors pretend that they did and spend a lot of time, money, and energy bringing Elizabethan English peasants to life in the streets of Renaissance Faires across America.
These peasants call themselves St. Helenas.
The Guild of St. Helenas is a historically inclined street performance troupe that has participated in Renaissance Faires, mostly in California, since 1978. This website is a collection of knowledge and references assembled by the Northern California branch, currently entertaining at the Northern California Renaissance Faire, at Casa de Fruita, Califorina.
